About the Position
This posting period runs from October 28, 2024, and closes on November 13, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. It is a union position, requiring union membership enrolment, and follows the Community Social Services General Collective Agreement.
Through a family centred, culturally safe, and trauma informed approach, the Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A), under the direct supervision of a qualified Speech-Language Pathologist, assists with direct intervention and group therapies to children from birth to kindergarten entry that experience speech, language, social/pragmatic, voice and fluency deficits. Specific areas of therapy include, but are not limited to, language delays, deaf or hard of hearing, and augmentative communication. Some of the tasks assigned may be general in nature and for the general good of the program rather than specific need.
The Speech-Language Pathology Assistant provides services to children from birth to kindergarten entry and promotes functional skills that contribute to inclusion and engagement in ways that are purposeful to the family. Range of Pay
The current rate of pay for this position ranges from $29.17 per hour up to $33.49 as determined by union classification. Upon qualification, a benefit package will be offered. The position is thirty-five hours per week on a regular schedule, with a start date as negotiated.
