Job description

Our client located in New Brunswick has an immediate opening for a Mechanical Maintenance Planner.

Duties:

  1. Manage new work requests on a daily basis, including estimations, timelines, resources, and parts.
  2. Maintain and manage a list of incomplete work/backlog.
  3. Develop lists of work available to be completed during area and major shutdowns.
  4. Develop a weekly schedule of planned work and have work ready to complete to take advantage of unplanned breakdowns.
  5. Monitor and report on maintenance spending versus established budgets with respect to material, labour, and contractor services.
  6. Coordinate activities with the Production Team, attend meetings, review planned work and break-in jobs, and assist with troubleshooting and special projects.
  7. Communicate with Maintenance, Operational Supervisors, Area Engineers, Preventative Maintenance, Reliability, and Operating Maintenance Coordinators to ensure work continuity between departments.
  8. Promote safe work practices and act as a safety champion.
  9. Ensure compliance with Mill Management Systems, Quality, and Environment.
  10. Ensure compliance with the collective agreement and foster sound union/employee relations.

Qualifications:

  1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Program or Mechanical Engineering Technology Diploma.
  2. 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  3. Experience with maintenance planning systems.
  4. Strong organizational skills.
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-demand, changing environment.
  6. Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
