As a Skilled Technician (Carpentry & Painting) at Banyan Tree Dubai is responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance repair installation painting and polishing tasks throughout the resort. This includes carpentry work on wooden structures furniture and fixtures as well as applying paint varnish stains and finishes to walls doors furniture and other surfaces. The role ensures that the resorts facilities maintain high standards of safety functionality and aesthetics. Working closely with the engineering team the technician responds to maintenance requests performs preventive maintenance and helps maintain a visually appealing and comfortable environment that enhances the overall guest experience

• Perform installation of wooden structures furniture doors windows cabinets and other fixtures throughout the resort.
• Measure cut and shape wood using appropriate tools and techniques to meet specific design and functional requirements.
• Work on custom carpentry projects as required including the design and fabrication of special wooden items or furniture.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on existing wooden structures and furniture ensuring all items are functional safe and aesthetically appealing.
• Repair or replace broken or damaged woodwork such as doors windows frames furniture and floorboards.
• Refinish wood surfaces sand stain and seal wooden furniture to restore them to their original condition.
• Conduct regular inspections of wooden structures and furniture to identify wear and tear or potential issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of wood fixtures and prevent major repairs or replacements.
• Perform painting tasks on walls ceilings doors windows and other surfaces as required ensuring a high-quality finish.
• Apply varnishes stains and other finishes to wooden furniture doors trim and other items to restore or enhance their appearance.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning sanding filling holes and applying primers as needed.
• Chooses appropriate paints stains and finishes for various surfaces ensuring that all materials meet hotel standards.
• Polish and maintain the appearance of metal wood and other surfaces ensuring they are free of scratches and maintain a smooth high-gloss finish.
• Perform touch-ups and minor repairs to painted and polished surfaces to maintain their condition and appearance.
• Regularly inspect and touch up painted surfaces throughout the hotel to ensure that the aesthetic quality remains at its best

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical certification in carpentry or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in carpentry preferably in a hospitality or facilities maintenance environment.
• Extensive knowledge of carpentry techniques materials tools and safety procedures.
• Ability to work with wood laminate veneers and other materials commonly used in furniture and construction
• Proven experience (2-3 years) as a Painter/Polisher ideally within a hospitality or facilities management setting.
• Good knowledge of different types of paints varnishes stains and finishes as well as the tools and techniques used to apply them.
• Ability to perform surface preparation (e.g. cleaning sanding) and apply coatings to a variety of surfaces.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to work on ladders or scaffolding when require
