Job summary
A leading health group is seeking a Speech Therapist in the United Arab Emirates to help students overcome speech, language, and communication challenges. Responsibilities include evaluating communication abilities, developing therapy plans, conducting therapy sessions, and collaborating with educators and parents. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree, a professional license, and possess strong interpersonal skills, with fluency in Arabic being essential. This role focuses on enhancing student communication and academic success.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of various speech and language disorders including autism and developmental delays.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate students’ speech and communication abilities through various methods.
- Develop individualized therapy plans to address speech challenges.
- Provide therapy sessions to improve communication and classroom participation.
- Implement classroom strategies that promote language development.
- Train staff and parents on techniques to support communication goals.
- Document and monitor student progress effectively.
- Participate in IEP meetings to set communication-related goals.
- Support students with speech delays and disorders.
- Stay informed on current research in speech-language pathology.

The Speech Therapist will work with students experiencing speech, language, and communication challenges, helping them overcome barriers to learning and social interaction. The role involves assessment, intervention, and collaboration with educators, parents, and other specialists to support students' communication skills and academic success.
- Evaluate students’ speech, language, and communication abilities through observation, testing, and consultations.
- Develop individualized therapy plans to address speech articulation, language development, voice, fluency, and social communication challenges.
- Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions to improve communication and enhance classroom participation.
- Work with teachers to implement classroom strategies that promote language development and communication skills.
- Train school staff and parents on techniques to support students' communication goals in various environments.
- Document and monitor student progress, updating therapy plans as needed.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to provide insights and set communication-related goals.
- Offer support and guidance for students with speech delays, language disorders, stuttering, and other communication challenges.
- Stay informed about current research and best practices in speech-language pathology.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders from an accredited institution.
- Valid professional license or eligibility to obtain a license in Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD).
- Experience working with children, preferably in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of various speech and language disorders, including autism, developmental delays, and learning disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and school staff.
- Expertise in developing and implementing therapy plans for diverse communication challenges.
- Skilled in using assessment tools and therapeutic strategies to facilitate progress.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to fostering student success.
- Fluency in Arabic.
- DOH or DHA.
