Forklift, JCB, Bob Cat Operator
- The candidate must be capable, properly trained, and a licensed holder to operate the equipment mentioned above.
- Knowledge of safety procedures used in the industry, including the permit to work system.
- Experience in organizing spares, tools, and equipment to carry out cleaning and maintenance activities.
- Ability to correctly use all types of lifting hardware such as slings, shackles, and chain blocks.
- Knowledge of various methods of lift possible using slings such as basket and choker hitches.
- Reasonable command of the English language.
- Experience of driving for at least 4-5 years in UAE at power plants/refineries.
Light Duty Driver:
- The candidate should have the capability to assist the Maintenance Department & HR for any transportation inside & outside the Station.
- Assist the Maintenance Department for shifting material at the site.
- Assist the Maintenance Department for delivering materials/parts to Mussafah or Jabil Ali.
- Assist the Maintenance Department for returning materials/parts from Mussafah or Jabil Ali.
- Assist the Maintenance Department during summer & outage periods.
- Assist GE for shifting materials at the site during HGPI and Major overhauling.
- Assist GE for delivering/returning materials to or from outside contractors during HGPI and Major overhauling.
- Experience of driving for at least 4-5 years in UAE.
- Knowledge of basic routes & shops of Abu Dhabi (especially Musaffah) to deliver or return materials/parts.
- Basic knowledge to read & write English with suppliers during delivery or collection.
Desired Candidate Profile
1. Forklift Operation Skills
- Forklift Handling: Proficiency in operating different types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, pallet jacks).
- Load Management: Safely loading and unloading materials, ensuring weight distribution and stability.
- Attachment Use: Knowledge of using attachments such as clamps, rotators, or extendable forks for specialized tasks.
2. Safety Awareness
- OSHA Compliance: Adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations for forklift operation.
- Hazard Awareness: Identifying potential hazards like obstacles, uneven surfaces, or overhead clearance.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Consistently using appropriate safety gear such as helmets, gloves, and high-visibility clothing.
- Safe Loading Practices: Ensuring loads are securely fastened and that forklifts are not overloaded.
3. Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection
- Routine Inspections: Checking the forklift for mechanical issues (e.g., fluid levels, tires, lights) before use.
- Basic Troubleshooting: Identifying and addressing minor mechanical issues or malfunctions.
- Maintenance Reporting: Reporting more serious issues or required maintenance to supervisors.
4. Spatial Awareness
- Navigation: Skill in maneuvering forklifts through tight spaces, narrow aisles, and around obstacles.
- Clearance Judgment: Recognizing overhead and side-clearances to prevent damage to goods or the forklift itself.
- Load Visibility: Ensuring visibility is not obstructed by the load to prevent accidents.
5. Documentation and Record-Keeping
- Inventory Management: Accurately logging items moved, stored, or delivered, and following inventory control systems.
- Safety Logs: Maintaining records of vehicle inspections, incidents, and safety training.
- Movement Documentation: Keeping track of goods or materials moved throughout the facility.
6. Physical Stamina and Dexterity
- Physical Endurance: Ability to work long shifts and handle physically demanding tasks such as lifting or bending.
- Hand-Eye Coordination: Precise control and coordination to move loads safely without damage.
- Manual Handling: Assisting in manual tasks related to loading and unloading when necessary.
7. Communication Skills
- Clear Communication: Effectively communicating with team members, supervisors, or other forklift operators using hand signals, radios, or phones.
- Team Coordination: Collaborating with others in busy warehouse or factory environments.
- Alertness: Notifying others of hazards or issues when operating near them.
