Job Summary:
The Head of Accounting and Reporting is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting functions. The incumbent will ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements, statutory reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements, including Zakat and tax obligations. This role will also be pivotal in managing the General Ledger (GL), ensuring comprehensive financial reporting on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger and subsidiary accounts.
- Ensure timely reconciliation of all GL accounts.
- Financial Statements and Reporting:
- Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other relevant guidelines.
- Manage the preparation of weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports.
Statutory Reporting:
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all statutory reports to regulatory authorities, including the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA).
- Stay up-to-date with changes in local and international reporting requirements and ensure compliance.
Zakat & Tax Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of Zakat and tax returns.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to ensure compliance with local tax laws.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and succession planning within the team.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
- Stay abreast of best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting.
- At least 3-5 years of managerial experience in a similar role.
- Certifications:
- Professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, CMA, ACCA are required.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
