Job Description
ASOS STUDIOS Senior Video Editor
Senior Video Editors at ASOS are the highly organised leadership figures, who have an eye for fashion, photography/video and seamless operations. As one of our Seniors, you will be working closely with the Leads, Management and wider senior teams. You will support department efficiency, whilst thinking commercially and innovatively to deliver the best e-commerce assets in the industry for our 20 something customer. You have the ability to successfully support a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset.
What you'll be doing...
- Reporting directly into the Lead Video Editor, you will be responsible for contributing to the day-to-day running of the Video team. This will primarily include product page enrichment of 1000+ products per day (Edit our product page Ecomm Videos for site in line with KPI and quality expectations) and the capture and edit of elevated shoots, projects and campaign deliverables
- Ensuring budget, cost per product, creative quality and volumetric KPIs are adhered to across all
- Use of a bespoke content management workflow system and online cloud file system to upload videos and complete our daily Video workflows
- Lead video capture for projects, elevated shoots and campaigns (Studio and location) whilst supporting and mentoring core team members to meet delivery demands
- Lead video editing for projects, elevated shoots and campaigns whilst supporting and mentoring core team members to meet delivery demands
- Ensure all project and elevated video content is captured and edited to brief, in line with resource allocation, budget and deadlines, whilst ensuring quality expectations are met
- Deliver video assets with suitable grade to ensure balanced, appropriate delivery of video assets to sit alongside images
- Monitoring the Video team performance KPIs/ SLAs and collaborating with the Lead to identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency
- Support deployment of fulltime and freelance team resource to optimise the collective team skill set including support of day-to-day management in response to absence
- Conducting regular 1-2-1's with your direct reports as Line Manager. Reviewing personal objectives, ensuring they are supported and guided, and their skill set is developed, and progression assessed
- Exceptional multitasking ability with outstanding organisational skills; able to use initiative and to work in pressurised environment
- Detailed working with Premier Pro and Mac, with ability to support teams with technical difficulties covering editing, file management, colour grading, exporting, final quality control, uploading to file and camera function
- Ensure all product page videos are edited to the highest standard possible so customers gain as much information from the clip as they can
- Lead by example and ensure regular quality checking across the team ensuring maximum attention to detail to guarantee the product is shown in the most optimum way for all deliverables
- Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department
- Show excellent problem-solving abilities and positive, dynamic response to change
- Work closely with the Lead Video Editor and Studio teams to help support the video creative development
- Constantly strive to develop and innovate all areas of video with the Lead Video Editor from quality through to efficiency, ensuring ASOS.com remains the leader in online imagery/video
- Able to work quickly and efficiently with a strong eye for detail and catching errors
- Ascertaining the technical capabilities of the Video Team and providing recommendations for team training and development
- Encourage team growth and development through contribution in group and 1-2-1 training, ensuring the team are striving to support in the delivery of the departmental strategy
- Contribute to team and departmental meetings when required
- Support the team in following established business processes
- Working with the Lead to support selection, interview process and onboard new full-timers. Simultaneously help maintain a high-quality freelance pool with the Lead to augment the team when volume requires
- Constantly assess and contribute to the succession plan within your team
- Work with the Lead Video Editor to support the training and development of new full-timers, whilst helping support a high-quality freelance team deliver when volume requires
- Lead by example encouraging the team to meet all the ASOS Behaviours
- Develop and implement your leadership style and communication alongside the Lead Video Editor, in line with ASOS Behaviours policy
- Work closely with other Seniors, Leads and Management team to successfully deliver the department strategy. Build strong, professional and collaborative relationships with the wider studio team to support shoot-to-post process and strategy
- Demonstrate excellent brand awareness by identifying areas for review, researching ideas and assessing competition when required to ensure we are market leaders
- Support and champion new workflow solutions to streamline departmental practices and processes
- Contribute to departmental technology software and hardware launches when required
- Deliver projects to support the department strategy and any other adhoc tasks defined by the Lead Video Editor and Senior Post Production Manager

Qualifications
Who We'd Like to Meet...
- Proven advanced knowledge and experience with Premier Pro and Mac required
- Proven strong knowledge of Video grading across Premiere Pro and Da Vinci Resolve
- Proven in depth knowledge and experience of E- commerce and creative Video capturing and editing processes for website and social delivery platforms (including online video formatting e.g. Bitrate, ratios etc and compression)
- In depth understanding of commercial video editing workflows (file management, colour grading, exporting, final quality control, uploading to file and camera function)
- Strong knowledge of all video capture and edit hardware and software equipment
- Knowledge of lighting for Video in studio and location environments (and how to collaborate with photography)
- Advanced editing knowledge to include 3D/4D expertise preferable
- Understanding of how to confidently incorporate audio files into premiere pro preferable
