Pensions Analyst

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Sheffield office.

This role is flexible; we’re looking for someone who has expertise in either Pensions or Data, so please read on and click apply if you have either background.

What the day will look like

• Accurately processing and checking data and queries by following procedures correctly and meeting agreed deadlines.
• Supporting less experienced colleagues by checking files and reports in line with SOPs and agreed deadlines.
• Planning, prioritising and delivering assigned project activities for each client (including client project reporting).
• Generating reports and additional information required for client meetings.
• Reviewing project tracker and ensuring all daily, monthly and annual processes are completed.
• Investigating the background to cases by referencing archived files and system data.
• Participating actively in client catch-up calls and meetings as appropriate.
• Highlighting risks and errors to relevant parties as soon as possible, following risk management processes.
• Identifying areas of improvement in the team to increase effectiveness.
• Communicating with relevant parties using appropriate means and language, including attending internal meetings/calls where required.
• Building strong relationships with client teams, client representatives, and third-party providers.
• Achieving team and individual targets (KPIs, SLAs, quality targets).
• Contributing to the team, supporting the rest of the team based on their needs (acting as a buddy to less experienced colleagues and supporting more senior colleagues).
• Reviewing and updating procedures and documentation.
• Maintaining required technical knowledge and behavioural standards, especially all regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Performing additional tasks as requested by your manager.
• Providing project support to the member events teams (inclusive of revenue and non-revenue generating work).
• Being aware of the proportion of time spent on chargeable activities.
• Reviewing the mailbox and work allocation tool and adhering to the timescales set for all tasks.
• Following processes and updating controls.
• Being responsible for personal compliance with Aon’s project management and approval procedures.

As a Pensions Analyst, you will get the opportunity to interact with a wide range of colleagues and teams across our Pensions Administration business. You’ll work on your own workload and will be given opportunities to progress and develop your career within our pensions team.

Individual development within this role will be fast-paced, with new and interesting challenges presenting themselves through changes in pensions legislation and industry initiatives.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

• Be proactive and self-motivated, with a desire to own and deliver the best solutions for Aon.
• Have previous experience of pensions data analysis and pensions admin systems, and/or pensions benefit administration.
• Have strong time-management skills, able to prioritise and manage several projects.
• Ability to identify project risks/issues and work with internal stakeholders to mitigate.
• Experience in working with MS Excel would be an advantage.
