Senior Actuarial Consultant - GMP Equalisation

Our GMPE pensions team in the UK has enjoyed sustained growth over the last 5 years, and currently comprises over 60 UK based consultants. We have a significant pipeline of work and are seeking ambitious qualified actuaries with strong inter-personal skills to join them as consultants. We have both technical and client facing roles available and we welcome discussions about splitting your time across GMP work and more traditional actuarial work.

You could be based in any of the following UK offices (Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Epsom, Farnborough, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, St. Albans), with a mix of home and office working.

What the day will look like

  • Support our consultants with their clients, formulating GMP equalisation advice
  • Lead on delivery of GMP equalisation to the client.
  • Work with our expert Project Management group to deliver GMP equalisation projects across a range of clients
  • Work with other specialist teams to deliver GMP equalisation projects integrated with Member Options or Risk Settlement work.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Qualified actuary, with extensive post-qualification experience
  • Track record in ideally leading day-to-day client relationships and supporting Partners/Principals with larger clients
  • Relevant industry experience (retirement/pensions) and consulting experience coupled with sound technical capability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and comfortable in leading discussions
  • Self-motivated and ambitious
  • Able to encourage and develop other colleagues, and work well within diverse teams
  • Whilst having an eye for detail, also capable in advising at a strategic level
