A rare opportunity has come up to become part of our POPS (Perioperative Care of Older People Undergoing Surgery) Team here at Kent and Canterbury Hospital. This is a relatively new team that is already nationally recognised for the excellent service they provide to patients.
The post involves delivering prehabilitation in a variety of formats to high risk patients who are due to undergo vascular, urology or orthopaedic elective surgeries. Work could be within outpatients (clinics, gym or hydrotherapy), on the wards or within the community, assessing a patient in their home environment, and will adjust according to patient need.
This would suit a Physiotherapist who has a broad range of experience and is adaptable & dynamic and enjoys a varied client group.
This clinical specialist position offers the exciting prospect of helping to lead the ongoing development of this service collaboratively with a well-established multidisciplinary team.
This post holder will help lead, develop and evaluate the POPS Physiotherapy service at Kent and Canterbury Hospital working alongside colleagues within the vascular, surgical and orthopaedic teams.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people.
