SEN Teaching Assistant

Contract Type: Full Time, Part Time, Short Term, Long Term

Location: Leeds

Salary: £89 - £105 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Role overview:

Protocol Education is actively seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant in Leeds. This position offers a remarkable opportunity to work closely with students who require additional support in their learning, helping them navigate challenges and realise their full potential in an inclusive educational environment.

Your efforts will focus on fostering engagement and motivation in the classroom, ensuring that each student feels valued and encouraged. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to students both during classroom activities and in one-on-one settings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning activities
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
  • Support the emotional, social, and cognitive development of students
  • Track and monitor student progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
  • Collaborate with teachers, SEN coordinators (SENCOs), and parents to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential
  • A passion for inclusive education and a desire to make a positive impact
  • Have a patient, resilient, and positive attitude towards learning and behaviour support
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) would be advantageous, but not essential
  • A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to obtain one
