St. Paul's School is looking for examination invigilators for the mock exams that will take place from 20th January - 31st January 2024.
General
Examination invigilators play a vital role within school exam teams. They ensure that exams adhere to current instructions from exam boards. Invigilators oversee specific exam sessions in the candidate's presence, crucially upholding the integrity of both external and internal assessment processes.
Regarding the role:
- Ensuring equal opportunity for all candidates to demonstrate their abilities.
- Maintaining examination security throughout the process.
- Preventing candidate malpractice and administrative failures.
- Collaborating with the examination officer and senior invigilator.
Invigilators must also:
- Ensure familiarity with examination procedures outlined by each exam board, including subject-specific instructions.
- Dedicate full attention to conducting examinations accurately.
- Maintain constant observation of candidates throughout the exam.
- Report any suspicions regarding examination paper security to the Exams officer.
- Refrain from engaging in any other activities, such as reading, while in the examination room.
Main Responsibilities:
Your primary role will involve providing support to the Exams Officer in the daily operation of examination venues and other related processes. This includes:
- Assisting in the setup of examination venues, including arranging stationery, equipment, and examination papers.
- Providing support to candidates before examinations commence.
- Ensuring candidates maintain silence within examination venues.
- Acting as an invigilator during examinations, addressing candidate queries and managing any irregularities.
- Monitoring attendance during examinations and documenting late arrivals.
- Supervising candidates both inside and outside examination venues, including escorting candidates when necessary.
- Collecting and organizing examination scripts at the conclusion of examinations.
- Aiding in the preparation of script envelopes.
- Overseeing the departure of candidates from examination venues to ensure compliance with regulations and the orderly conduct of candidates.
- Assisting in the packing and transportation of examination materials to and from venues.
- Assisting in the development of seating plans.
Exact timetable of hours needed will be confirmed to examination invigilators by December.
This is a contractor position (prestação de serviço) and is therefore only available to non-staff members of St. Paul's School.

Please note this is not a full-time position.
The successful candidate will have a fixed contract (RPA) with us. This RPA contract will not generate an employment relationship.
