Job summary

A global cosmetics company in Goiânia is seeking a HSE Manager to lead the Safety department. This role requires implementing global strategies and ensuring compliance with Brazilian regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in Occupational Safety, a relevant degree, and advanced English proficiency. Job description

MISSION Lead the Safety department, ensuring the implementation of Coty's global strategy at the site and full compliance with applicable Brazilian legal requirements. Act as an early and active partner in all matters that impact employee safety and the company's reputation, guaranteeing adherence to the site's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Policy and Coty's global HSE expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure full understanding and compliance with the Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Policy;
  • Comply with all company procedures and instructions, not only those related to occupational safety;
  • Advise local leaders on the human and financial resources needed to efficiently implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs;
  • Ensure the company is aware of upcoming legislation and its potential impact, while maintaining compliance with current laws and regulations;
  • Provide technical expertise to the site regarding HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Develop and monitor objectives, targets, policies, procedures, and programs to meet legal requirements and continuously improve safety, environmental performance, and reporting systems;
  • Create and manage the site’s HSE Action Plan, ensuring proper follow-up and completion of all initiatives;
  • Participate in management meetings, as appropriate, to provide updates on HSE performance and related matters;
  • Ensure adequate and effective incident‑reporting systems across all departments, including communication, escalation, notification, investigation, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence;
  • Collect and provide monthly accident and incident statistics, including lost‑time cases and trend analyses, for senior management review;
  • Ensure the site maintains a fully compliant Safety Station according to Coty global standards, with proper training and resources to sustain the process;
  • Guarantee that sufficient and appropriate risk assessments are performed and that control measures proportional to risk levels are implemented throughout the site;
  • Prepare the annual HSE audit schedule and conduct audits to evaluate site performance against Coty’s Six Key HSE Management Elements;
  • Support the resolution of HSE issues as they arise;
  • Ensure all relevant health and safety records are maintained and readily available for inspections when required;
  • Interact with local HSE authorities—such as police, fire department, and health & safety inspectors—during visits / inspections and ensure implementation of their recommendations;
  • Ensure the Emergency Response Team is fully trained, operational, and prepared to act;
  • Ensure the Internal Accident and Harassment Prevention Committee (CIPA) operates autonomously and fulfills its responsibilities;
  • Ensure compliance with all municipal, state, and federal HSE regulations, as well as Coty's corporate standards;
  • Ensure all third‑party service providers comply with applicable health and safety legislation;
  • Schedule and participate in site audits and self‑assessments;
  • Train and support key system owners in their respective HSE responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related fields;
  • Postgraduate degree in Occupational Safety Engineering;
  • Advanced English proficiency (mandatory);
  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) managing high‑risk operations, particularly in Occupational Safety roles;
  • Solid experience in people management;
  • Active participation in global HSE networks is a plus;
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, prevention, and control measures;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong ability to document processes clearly;
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate effectively across different organizational levels.
