We specialise in the growing, packing and marketing of apples and pears to retailers, traders and wholesalers around the globe.

We have a career opportunity for a self-disciplined and confident individual who can implement specialist technical knowledge in fruit quality and compliance.

The position requires expertise to maintain quality and packing standards and the capability to build and maintain strong relationships with packhouses and customers. This position is based in Somerset West, but the incumbent will be required to travel to the packhouses in the Grabouw / Vyeboom area.

Own transport and valid driver's license are required.

1. Determine client needs relating to product specifications and due diligence requirements.
2. Develop and communicate clear product specification guidelines to the sales team and pack shed personnel.
3. Regular packing facility visits to assist with interpretation of the specifications and perform quality inspections.
4. Communicate and interact with clients and service providers.
5. Arrange and lead client visits to our packing facilities.
6. Interpret product feedback from customers and resolve problems with packhouses and clients.
7. Evaluate packing formats and test new concepts and innovations.

1. BSc Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Science or similar qualification with 3 years' experience in the fruit industry.
2. Computer literacy.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
