Are you a team player passionate about high quality food products and committed to delivering exceptional service? We're looking for a reliable and self-motivated Butchery Operative to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy butchery whilst ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately weigh and measure ingredients for our marinades and sausage seasoning mixes.
- Lead packaging and packing of cured and smoked products, biltong, cooked meats, and raw meats, ensuring they reach customers in perfect condition.
- Collaborate with the team to meet production deadlines and productivity targets.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, food safety, and hygiene standards in all aspects of your work.
- Support stock control, product pricing, and ensure product quality to meet customer expectations.
- Assist the hygiene team in upholding top-tier cleanliness standards across the butchery.

Where you'll be working - Our Butchery
The Newt butchery production facility is world class and plays a central role in the success and continued growth of our food production business. The butchery is the sole supplier of high quality meat products to 11 outlets across the Newt estate (from the farm shop to the flagship Botanical Rooms restaurant), as well to our fast growing nationwide online grocery delivery service. The butchery is part of the fabric of the Newt with features such as the Himalayan salt aging room and is accessible to visitors tours and the ever popular butchery workshops held each month by the Head Butcher.
You will be joining an operational team with high animal welfare expectations. We are proud to be able to promote the use of grass fed and free-range livestock that include the rare breed `British White` cattle reared here on the estate.
