Are you passionate about delivering high quality care, self-motivated, forward thinking, keen to develop yourself and others, work both autonomously and as part of a specialist multidisciplinary team and are keen for an opportunity to develop your leadership skills? If you are, then we would very much like to hear from you.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Breast Care Nursing Team of Breast Test Wales which is part of the Screening Division of Public Health Wales. We are recruiting a part-time Senior Breast Care Nurse to work within the North Wales team, covering centres in Llandudno and Wrexham.
You will be responsible for delivering direct care and support to individuals who have been recalled for assessment following their routine screening mammogram, whilst also leading a small team and ensuring high quality care is delivered. As a leader, you will play a key role in mentoring and supporting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development and service improvement.
You will be expected to provide psychological support, evidence-based information, and advice to individuals diagnosed with breast cancer and breast disease, thereby assisting them in making informed decisions regarding treatment options. Additionally, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and implement best practices in breast care nursing.
You should be committed to team building, delivering a high-quality service, and driving continuous improvement. Experience in oncology or breast screening along with knowledge of the principles and practice of breast cancer nursing is essential—or a willingness to undertake study to acquire these qualifications.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with evidence of recent and continuing professional development.
