We are currently recruiting for a Marketing and Design Manager to work with us at Oxford Brookes University. This position is hybrid and will involve working on site 4 days a week.

Location: Oxford Brookes University
Rate of pay: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum + amazing benefits
Working pattern: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday

We are a dynamic catering company contracted by Oxford Brookes University to provide high-quality, sustainable and innovative food services across campuses. Our mission is to enhance the student and staff experience by delivering fresh, locally sourced and delicious food in an engaging and inclusive environment.

We are looking for a creative and strategic Marketing & Design Manager to lead our branding, promotional, and customer engagement efforts. You will be responsible for crafting compelling marketing campaigns, overseeing visual identity and driving digital and on-campus engagement to boost awareness and sales.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand and Design:

1. Follow and champion the branding guidelines across Food at Brookes at Oxford Brookes University campuses. Ensure the wider Gather & Gather team are trained and competent to utilise and apply the branding guidelines as and when required.
2. Design and manage all marketing materials including digital menus, social media content, print menus, posters and signage.
3. Manage the design workflow process from submission to execution from various stakeholders.
4. Oversee and manage the relationship with Brookes Print Room, ensuring high quality output and a strong working relationship.

Stakeholder Relationships:

1. Manage and drive the internal communications for three separate groups of stakeholders including the client, Brookes Union and Gather & Gather staff.
2. Carefully consider specific client feedback and suggestions, weighting them against commercial outcomes and opportunities in a supportive and authentic manner.

Marketing Promotions and Storytelling:

1. Carefully consider marketing promotions and activity carried out through the academic year, providing a comprehensive plan of exciting and engaging activity.
2. Support and continue the development of app engagement, including loyalty initiatives, promotional offers and campus engagement activities.
3. Collaborate with the kitchen team, sustainability, operations and front-line teams to create engaging storytelling around food offerings and sustainability initiatives.
4. Oversee social media management, content creation, and customer engagement to build a vibrant online presence.

Event Management:

1. Support the execution of key events including orientation weeks, open days, seasonal activities and hospitality events from design to delivery.

Research and Reporting:

1. Conduct market research to identify trends, customer preferences and areas for growth.
2. Manage and oversee survey feedback, including the design of appropriate benchmarking, questions, flow of feedback, NPS scoring and mystery visits. Ensure the Senior Leadership Team within Gather & Gather are briefed monthly on updates or feedback that can help their work thrive.
3. Monitor and analyse marketing performance metrics to measure campaign effectiveness and ROI.

Key Skills & Competencies:

1. Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
2. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with diverse stakeholders.
3. Expertise in social media management, including content creation, scheduling, and community engagement.
4. Proficient in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva) for producing high-quality digital and print assets.
5. Creative thinker with the ability to develop fresh and engaging marketing ideas.
6. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed marketing decisions.
7. Experience in event planning and marketing activations.
8. Knowledge of the foodservice or hospitality industry is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience:

1. You have relevant experience and sound knowledge of marketing design and marketing implementation process.
2. Practical experience in either Canva or the Adobe Creative Suite is essential.
3. You have experience in delivering events.
4. You have sound knowledge or experience in the hospitality, food and beverage sector.
5. Experience within higher education is desirable.
6. You are able to liaise, support and manage marketing initiatives with a variety of internal stakeholders, often as the key driver.
7. You are resourceful, energetic and come with the ability to generate ideas and act on them.
8. You have the ability to gain and keep confidence of stakeholders and build effective relationships.
9. You have effective written and oral communication skills.
10. You have a relevant tertiary qualification and/ or relevant experience.
