We are looking to appoint a Secondment to our Neonatal Governance Lead to cover maternity leave for a year. As the Neonatal Governance lead, the post holder will be responsible for leading investigations of serious incidents, producing and monitoring action plans. He/She will also be responsible for leading on continuous improvement of service quality to promote an environment of excellence with the highest standards of care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, experienced and knowledgeable neonatal nurse to work as our Clinical Governance and Risk Lead Nurse.
The post holder will be a key member of the NICU ward management team and will work closely with our dedicated NICU nursing and consultant team, and our maternity and obstetric teams.
As the Neonatal Governance Lead, the post holder will take responsibility for leading investigations of significant events and patient safety events, producing and monitoring action plans. There will be an expectation that you will provide support and information for staff to learn from incidents, taking into consideration human factors, root cause analysis pathways, implementation of Patient Safety Incidence Response Framework (PSIRF) and assurance that changes in practice in the system have been embedded to prevent re-occurrence. They will promote a non-blame environment where clinical governance and patient safety are paramount to the service.
