Indirect Tax Manager

Base Location: Birmingham plus network of 20 offices nationally: Office Locations

KPMG has one of the leading Indirect Tax practices in the UK, providing advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a broad range of business sectors including large multi-nationals, household name retailers and public sector organisations.

The team undertakes both compliance and advisory services, and we are looking to recruit motivated individuals who have existing Indirect Tax experience, are interested in the financial services sector, and would like the opportunity to assume responsibility for client delivery.

What will you be doing?

• Providing indirect tax and advisory compliance services to a range of clients.
• Supporting senior members of the team in the delivery of client projects.
• Direct contact with clients and developing long-lasting relationships.
• Supporting senior members of the team in business development initiatives.
• Working with and developing Tax Assistants within the team.
• Identifying opportunities to implement and develop technology solutions for compliance and advisory projects.
• Contributing to the diverse and friendly team.

What will you need to do it?

• ACA, CTA or Qualified Solicitor and/or relevant experience (at least 5 years) with Indirect Taxes.
• Existing VAT or Customs knowledge or transferable skills.
• A commitment to develop existing Indirect Tax knowledge and skills.
• An eagerness to develop wider skills e.g., communication, networking, business development.
• The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• An ability to manage and prioritise work.
• An ability to establish and maintain good relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Working with clients to identify issues and opportunities to enhance their Indirect Tax processes.
• Sustaining a high level of drive, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude when coping with pressure at work.
• Eagerness to learn and deliver quality work to build the reputation of KPMG.
