An established independent girls' day school is looking for an inspiring part-time Economics teacher. This role offers the chance to engage with bright and ambitious students, fostering their passion for Economics both in the classroom and through extracurricular activities. The school prides itself on its supportive community and excellent academic results, making it an ideal environment for educators who wish to make a significant impact. With opportunities for professional development and a variety of benefits, this position is perfect for those eager to inspire the next generation of economists.
Part-time, 3 days per week
Notting Hill & Ealing High School, one of London’s leading independent girls’ day schools, has an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to contribute to a flourishing Economics Department in both its curricular and extra-curricular activities.
We are looking for a well-qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Economics, with a passion for the subject and excellent subject knowledge. If you are a good communicator who can enthuse and inspire both pupils and colleagues, and have exciting ideas about the teaching of Economics, and how they can be further developed and encouraged, we would be delighted to hear from you.
The Department
Economics is one of the strongest and most popular subjects in the sixth form. In recent years, the uptake of the subject has increased significantly, and our A Level results are consistently excellent. Beyond exam success, the department aims to inspire students throughout the school about Economics and its applications in daily life. It also strives to provide all pupils with the best possible opportunities to fulfil their potential. Several extracurricular activities are run, including competitions such as the London Institute of Banking & Finance Student Investor Challenge, the Tycoon Enterprise Competition, as well as the Royal Economic Society’s essay competition.
Students also have the chance to attend the annual Economics in Action student conference, which offers an inspirational day of economics, alongside encouragement of hosting visiting speakers at the school. A successful trip to New York was organised in 2020, which we hope to offer again in the future. Each year, a number of students apply to study Economics at university, including at Oxford and Cambridge.
