Project Engineering Manager

Key Accountabilities & Duties:

  1. Carry out all activities in full compliance with H&SE legislation, within company policy and procedure.
  2. Responsible for reporting any unsafe acts or unsafe conditions observed (using the Near Miss System) in accordance with responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act.
  3. Manage Project Engineering Team personnel in line with Company Policies and ensure the development of individuals to meet the needs of the business.
  4. Preparation of a detailed Capital expenditure programme for the site which delivers to the CEUK budget.
  5. Managing the Capital projects through to engineering commissioning and transfer to the receiving department when ready.
  6. Ensure that all appropriate plant & facilities information is supplied to the engineering drawing office in a timely and accurate manner.
  7. Ensure that regular structured communication is undertaken across the Plant & Facilities function.
  8. Ensure compliance with Group, Company and legislative Environmental processes and procedures for Ardeer.
  9. Responsible for carrying out all direct staff objectives and reviews.

The Candidate:

  1. Must have personal commitment to Safety, Quality and Environmental standards.
  2. Strong bias for action to identify potential problems and co-ordinate their resolution before they become an issue.
  3. Continually seeks to identify new ideas and implement new opportunities, which deliver business benefit.
  4. The ability to lead, build and develop effective relationships and use these to improve performance.
  5. Strong IT, communication and team working skills.
  6. Knowledge of the principles of company policy and operating procedures in order to ensure site and company compliance.
  7. Excellent communication skills.

Qualifications/Experience:

  1. Degree/HND/HNC or relevant experience in an engineering discipline.
  2. Broad knowledge base of civil and engineering practices and standards.
  3. Project Management.
  4. Design Review Experience.
  5. IT Skills (esp. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  6. Working knowledge of Risk Assessments.
  7. Experience of dealing with people issues.
  8. Working within multi-functional teams.
