Job description

Due to company expansion, Green Street (GS) seeks to recruit an experienced People Partner to further grow its People & Culture team based at our London office in the heart of Mayfair.

Green Street is a fast-paced, high-performance environment which is on a fast track to expand globally. With 4 acquisitions completed in the past 18 months, the London office has doubled in size, and we have gained additional offices in Utrecht in the Netherlands and Sofia in Bulgaria. We also now have presence in Canada, Australia, Germany, France and Singapore with further acquisitions planned.

This role is focused on building excellent relationships with stakeholders by providing pragmatic and clear advice in line with best practice to aid the organisation in achieving its goals. A key focus will be encouraging and fostering collaboration both cross-office and across the wider organisation. As a co-pilot to the business functions being supported, the People Partner will guide leaders with coaching and feedback to support their personal effectiveness and the broader growth and development of the team. You will lead capability and performance management processes, ensuring any issues are resolved pro-actively. There will also be the opportunity to get involved with acquisitions; onboarding and integrating new joiners to our company. Therefore, an understanding or practical experience of TUPE would be advantageous.

You will work in collaboration with the wider People & Culture team across the organisation, to drive cross-functional global projects, which will often involve working closely with the Senior Leadership Team.

Reports to: VP, People & Culture – UK & Europe

Other key relationships: Group People & Culture team, local management, and Senior Leadership Team

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end HR processes, including recruitment, on-boarding, employee relations, capability and performance management
  • Recruit candidates for open positions, manage the interview and selection process within stated KPI’s
  • Ensure onboarding of new employees is seamless and results in a positive employee experience
  • Manage local employee relations issues including investigations and conflict resolution; handle capability assessments as needed
  • Work with global ER SME to ensure consistency and mitigate risks
  • Work with management to initiate PIP processes as needed for performance issues, manage PIP process end-to-end
  • Provide input, review and support as needed to Group People Operations function related to local compensation and benefits administration
  • Partner in implementing actions to improve employee engagement and retention; foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment
  • Ensure adherence to relevant local HR policies and practices in line with regulations and compliance mandates
  • Operate as a trusted advisor to management, providing practical support and guidance on people management
  • Assist the People & Culture team with implementing policies and programs that foster an excellent employee experience
  • Collaborate with business leaders to identify and address HR needs, aligning talent strategies with business objectives
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in HR generalist roles, ideally within a Financial Services environment
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and provide advice without close supervision
  • Experience operating within a commercial and/or relationship driven environment with the ability to build relationships and business partnerships with others – being a credible ‘trusted advisor’
  • Act as the first point of contact for people leaders and employees should employee issues arise, taking a lead role where possible
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of in-house recruitment, employee relations, end-to-end performance management, capability procedures and compensation & benefits
  • Proven ability to engage and build trusted relationships at all levels of the organisation
  • Understanding and experience of applying UK employment law and HR compliance. Knowledge of employment law in other European jurisdictions would be helpful
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess HR metrics and translate data into actionable insights
  • Experience supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new joiners CIPD and/or relevant degree is preferable but not required
  • Experience working in a global environment a plus
  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom now and in the future, without visa or sponsorship requirements
