ScottishPower are recruiting Senior Estates Surveyors to provide Real Estates Services across UK ScottishPower Group assets including owned, leased and third party rights over land in order to maximum value.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Land & Estates Manager, you’ll work on multiple projects simultaneously with various stakeholders and provide professional property advice on subjects including:

  • Valuation
  • Compulsory Purchase
  • Statutory Compensation
  • Building Control
  • Rating
  • Landlord and Tenant
  • Rent Review/Arbitration
  • Lease Renewal

You’ll contribute to the Estates Operating Plan and take responsibility for individual objective delivery including supporting property management issues. Support the implementation, compliance and interpretation of all Estates policies including compliance of Company Policy and Statutory requirements.

You’ll project manage the delivery of disposal of property, the acquisition of land, property and associated rights by purchase or lease, and the specification and design of new premises to ensure they meet requirements.

Put forward solutions to complex property issues and prepare plans to mitigate the impact of threat of Termination of Rights to Infrastructure Assets and monitor and react proactively to market changes or potential risks.

What you’ll bring

You’ll bring extensive experience in the acquisition and disposal of property assets and the management of high value and complex property portfolio to maximise its value. An understanding of compulsory purchase procedures and the basis of compensation would be advantageous.

Be a member of the RICS with a Real Estates related degree or other relevant discipline.

A customer-centric approach to everything you do. You’ll be a good communicator, comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels and positively influence, negotiate and use probing questions to reach a positive outcome.

Good working knowledge of:

  • Property Management Information Systems
  • Engineering working practices and constraints

Awareness of:

  • Business planning processes and timetable
  • Regulation and business review process
  • Building technology

Knowledge of:

  • Electricity Act 1989
  • Town and Country Planning
  • Non-operational Property portfolio
  • Valuation
  • Compensation Code
  • Statutory Legislation

A full driving licence is required for this role.
