Business Development Executive

Carbon Architecture is an established, expanding company that has a strong reputation for delivering solutions which help businesses reduce Carbon, Energy, and Waste. Heading into our 15th year, we are seeking a Business Development Executive to join the commercial team to maximize the rapid growth forecast over the next five years.

Our main consultancy service focuses on energy management, carbon reporting, and energy optimization, with the team supporting a number of services including Heat Decarbonisation Plans (HDPs), Net Zero Roadmaps (NZR), and Climate Change Agreements (CCAs). Carbon Architecture also has a Data Analytics platform (InMetriks), which is an energy data analytics service for industry and commercial buildings, focusing on energy, water, and waste minimization.

Working closely with the Senior Development Managers, you will be responsible for generating new business from a designated territory of UK businesses, a mix of manufacturing, brewing, real estate, and public sector, explaining the benefits of Carbon Architecture’s portfolio of products and services, and securing new clients with a particular emphasis on Green Mark and InMetriks. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven Business Development Exec to join a highly successful, fun, and friendly team.

As a Business Development Executive with Carbon Architecture, you’ll do it by:

  • Conducting market research to identify key decision-makers within prospective client companies and understanding their needs.
  • Developing a pipeline of qualified leads through research, trade shows, and existing customers.
  • Proactively interacting with prospective clients via telephone and email and documenting these communications clearly within the CRM system.
  • Generating new business through cold calling and lead chasing.
  • Meeting and exceeding quarterly sales and meeting targets.
  • Articulating Carbon Architecture’s product offerings and identifying relevant solutions for each client.
  • Arranging sales meetings for senior business development managers.
  • Supporting the senior sales team through the sales cycle to secure new clients, including writing new business proposals.
  • Managing all inbound sales inquiries for your client base.
  • Gaining a full understanding of all products and services, competitors, and knowledge of the industry.
  • Keeping senior management updated about marketplace and competitor activity.
What does it take?

If you’re ready to be the energy that helps us build our business, share our success, and own it as a Business Development Executive, you’ll need:

  • Minimum of 12 months B2B sales experience.
  • Results-driven, motivated, and passionate about sales.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A high degree of professionalism and organizational skills, with the ability to manage your own workload.
  • A self-starter with a high level of self-motivation and a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Confident closer, resourceful, self-motivated, and competitive.
  • Experience in writing persuasive business proposals.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office/CRM systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Science, or Engineering preferable, but not essential.
  • Passion for sustainability and the environment.
  • Full driving license.
Working arrangements
