Business Development Manager

Description

We are looking for a new business sales hunter to join our growing team at Colibri Digital.

The role requires a confident, experienced, and self-motivated individual who is able to work with minimal supervision - comfortable working with Marketing, Pre-Sales and the delivery teams to identify new logo opportunities and manage the engagement process to closure with the customer. This will require interactions across different organisational levels in both technical and business discussions.

A key part of this role will be working extensively with our technical partners, especially Databricks and AWS. The successful candidate will be expected to spend several days a week with these technology partners in order to promote Colibri, and generate and mature leads to a successful close.

Colibri’s growth focus and pedigree is in building cutting edge strategic Data and AI solutions, Cloud adoption and managed services for our customers. Candidates should demonstrate a significant understanding of how value can be created for customers in this space, as well as a successful history of new business sales in this domain.

Central to the role will be the creation of compelling sales solutions based on a good understanding of the customers’ needs and how Colibri can provide solutions that solve both technical and business problems for our customers.

The successful candidate will also need to be flexible in relation to business travel.

Strong internal and client relationships are paramount, and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of maturity and commercial acumen. Communications and documentation must be authoritative, precise and credible and the successful candidate will be flexible and responsive to issues yet attuned to the agreed scope of work and Colibri’s interests.

The successful candidate will have the experience and confidence to be able to advise clients in relation to solutions provided by Databricks, AWS and Microsoft cloud services. This is a remote role, however there is an expectation to be visiting technology partners, clients and attending events regularly.


Key Responsibilities
  1. Primarily you will work with Databricks, AWS, Microsoft and our marketing team to uncover new leads and identify opportunities through technology partner channels and directly with new prospects.
  2. Attend events and trade shows across the UK.
  3. Meet Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Targets by closing business in new logos.
  4. Work with Pre-Sales to ensure that the quality of proposals delivered to customers is professional and of high quality.
  5. Ensure that Forecasting and Reporting are updated in CRM accurately reflecting the activities of building a pipeline and moving deals through to Won. Utilise CRM to track leads, opportunities and customer interactions.
  6. Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and product developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  7. Conduct thorough research on prospects and their industry, and tailor sales pitches and proposals to meet their specific needs.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  1. Technology background with a passion for technology and the latest trends in Data & AI.
  2. Proven experience and a track record of success meeting and exceeding targets in new business sales roles.
  3. Excellent presentation skills and ability to talk confidently about Colibri Digital offerings.
  4. Experience dealing with customers and business stakeholders, at all levels.
  5. Enthusiastic and motivated self-starter.
  6. Commercial acumen balanced with strong client centricity and empathy.
