Thalex is a crypto derivatives exchange offering options, futures and perpetuals. Our ambition is to become a leading crypto options exchange. Building on a battle-tested, and reliably fast performing platform, we are scaling our go-to market using a hybrid approach of direct customer acquisition and partnerships with other exchanges to provide our product to their existing customer base.

Culture

The culture at Thalex is best described as a data-driven/engineering culture. The decision hierarchy is very flat. Conversations are focused on problem-solving in an open and direct communication style. There are as few recurring meetings as possible.

The Role

In the role as Business Developer, you will report directly to our CEO. You will visit conferences together or alone and use your extensive network to your advantage. We are open to any location, and you can work remotely, but proximity to an airport and willingness to travel extensively is a hard requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the crypto derivatives market.
  • Develop detailed client profiles and strategy documentation to attract new retail and institutional clients, exchange partnerships, and Affiliates/KOLs.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Build an extensive network and maintain meaningful relationships to stay on top of key trends and industry developments.
  • Ensure that new clients meet our standards and do not create financial, reputational, or regulatory risk.
  • Gather and communicate client feedback to relevant teams, proposing solutions to improve our product and/or service.

Requirements

We’re seeking a passionate, results-driven individual with a deep interest in crypto. To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • At least 5 years of work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a business development representative for a crypto exchange and/or trading firm.
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • The ability to develop and execute strategic plans based on qualitative research and data-driven insights.
  • Proven ability to identify, develop, and deliver growth opportunities.
  • A high sense of responsibility and ownership.
  • Willingness to travel extensively.
  • Stamina to be responsive 24/7.
