As a Business Development Account Manager, you will be responsible for representing Business Wire in various capacities and generating net new revenue from new large enterprise-level client acquisition involving complex buying processes with high touch and diversified product/service requirements.
What You Will Do
- Develop thorough knowledge of the industry, our products and services, as well as those of our competitors.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition and ROI of Business Wire products and services.
- Generate new revenue for Business Wire through new client acquisition.
- Build a sales pipeline by cultivating prospects, creating new business opportunities, and increasing revenue within an assigned territory.
- Meet with prospective new clients a minimum of 10 times per month via in-person meetings and/or webinars, building relationships and selling Business Wire products and services within the assigned territory.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional industry societies and associations.
- Leverage our exclusive partners to build a solid pipeline.
- Meet or exceed sales quotas and performance objectives.
- Conduct market prospection across the UK/Ireland and a defined EMEA territory.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in another European language is considered an asset.
- Successfully execute client contracts from negotiation to close in adherence to related company policies and procedures.
- Perform needs analysis on prospective new clients to ensure a clear understanding of their respective business needs to provide an equitable Business Wire solution.
- Maximize results by satisfying multiple buyers in an organization and systematically addressing conflicting needs of multiple buyer influencers.
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, including calls, meetings, opportunities, emails, social outreach, in Salesforce CRM.
What You Will Need
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships with clients across an organizational hierarchy, including executive/C-level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and webinar skills.
- Proven success in meeting and exceeding sales goals by managing all stages of the sales cycle including prospecting, needs analysis, presentation, proposal, negotiation, and closing.
- Understanding and ability to communicate at a high level with professionals in investor relations, financial reporting, public relations, marketing, social media, and corporate communications preferred.
- BA/BS degree, or international equivalent, preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years outside sales experience required.
- Proficiency with Salesforce.com, Tableau, and other sales enablement tools.
