A health services provider in Essex County is seeking Part Time Paramedics dedicated to delivering high-quality medical care and emergency services. The role involves responding to emergency calls, ensuring safe transport for patients, and participating in vehicle and equipment maintenance. Ideal candidates should possess a certification in Primary Care Paramedicine, current CPR certification, and a valid Ontario Class 'F' Driver's License. These positions require availability for various shifts, including weekends and holidays, and offer competitive pay ranging from $42.46 to $44.74 per hour.

We are the land ambulance service provider for Elgin EMS, and we’re looking for Part Time Paramedics who are committed to delivering innovative health care, safety and communications solutions through knowledgeable and caring professionals. Our belief is in a better life for the communities we serve. Located in St. Thomas, Ontario, these roles report to the Operations Manager/Supervisor and involve responding to requests for paramedic service, delivering medical care to patients, ensuring safe transportation to receiving medical facilities, and assisting with ongoing care of the patient within the facility as required. Paramedics also participate in the ongoing maintenance of ambulance vehicles, equipment and stations, and perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager/Supervisor.
The ideal candidate must be a certified Primary Care Paramedic and meet all employment and qualification criteria as contained in Ontario Regulation 257/00 - Part III. You must be able to perform in high-stress and unpredictable situations and meet physical requirements (e.g., bending, crouching, lifting, walking on uneven ground). Personal transportation is required for reporting to stations. Additional mandatory requirements:
This position requires various shift work including days, nights, weekends, and holidays at all stations throughout Elgin County. Part-time staff members are expected to provide availability that meets the current collective agreement, which includes:
Vacation and in lieu of benefits are in accordance with the most current collective agreement between Medavie EMS Elgin Ontario and Unifor, Local 302. Wages: $42.46/HR - $44.74/HR as per the same collective agreement.
