Position Summary:
Working independently to install, configure, and maintain CPSA’s servers to ensure reliable access and performance. The Senior Systems Administrator will handle software updates, patches, and backups to maintain data integrity and prevent downtime while documenting server configurations and managing user permissions to support secure and efficient server operations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor server health, troubleshoot issues, and implement security protocols to protect against unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
- Complete daily checks of server performance and jobs that are running such as backup, data extracts, scripts running, and performance improvements.
- Respond to after hour calls of server issues.
- Spearhead server documentation on configurations and benchmarks in performance.
- Lead administration of Microsoft 365 online environment (Teams, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Office, etc).
- Lead SharePoint and SQL Administration of onsite systems.
- Setup new server hardware and perform server updates and patching.
- Manage Active Directory and the systems that support it.
- Advise Manager on new systems or changes to existing systems.
- Configure and manage cloud-based infrastructure and services in AWS and MS Azure environments.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot networking infrastructure such as routers, switches, and other network devices.
- Install, manage, and monitor security systems such as Firewall, EDR, and IDS. Configure and optimize systems to protect against security threats.
- Manage and configure identity and access management solutions that include MFA, SSO, and other identity management standards.
- In support of continuous quality improvement, research new technologies, review processes, and make recommendations to enhance CPSA’s technology practices.
- Other duties as required.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering.
- 8-10 years of related experience, with a minimum of 8 years in server support and 5 years in a key server support role.
- Must be available on call for after hours work.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous network experience is preferred.
- After hours on call experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, AWS, Microsoft server 2016-present, SharePoint server, and SQL server experience.
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Takes initiative and ability to work within a team environment.
