We are seeking an installer with experience in construction trades to join our team. This role primarily involves working on carpentry related tasks doing sheet metal work, installation work, scaffolding services and mechanical insulation. You will be working on significant projects including combat vessels.

Responsibilities

1. Apply, remove, and repair thermal and acoustical insulation on various types of industrial equipment including duct piping, heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels.
2. Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine insulation requirements.
3. Select the appropriate amount and type of insulation and method of securing the insulation based on the equipment's surface type, temperature, location, and use.
4. Measure and cut insulating material and coverings to required shapes and dimensions, fitting insulation around obstructions or shaping insulation materials and protective coverings.
5. Install vapor barriers and finish insulated surfaces by applying metal cladding, canvas, PVC, or cement.
6. 3+ years in a construction trade such as carpentry, sheet metal, or installation.
7. Ability to operate hand and power tools.
8. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English effectively.
9. Completion of CSTS training.
10. Reliable transportation - the site is NOT transit accessible.

You will be working in North Vancouver. Parking is available on site but fills up quickly. The team consists of 36 employees, reporting to the Site Superintendent, with one other superintendent and five foremen. Currently, there are three ships being worked on. The shift is Monday to Friday with weekend overtime, starting at 5:45 am and ending at 4:00 pm, totaling 10-hour days (8 regular hours, 2 overtime hours).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.06 - $45.57 / hr.
