Temporary Contract: June 6, 2025 to June 5, 2026

Desired Qualifications

1. Bus Driver's endorsement (School Bus “S”) class 5 – Chinook will provide training and expense reimbursement to support candidates who have not yet obtained an “S” endorsement.
2. Clean driver's abstract.
3. Ability to deal tactfully and cooperatively with public, students, and staff.
4. Good physical condition.
5. Basic computer skills.

Duties (may include but are not limited to):

1. Transporting students safely.
2. Daily driving when students are in attendance.
3. Daily disinfecting and cleaning of the bus.
4. Adhere to safe bus driving procedures.
5. Comply with all Personal Protective Equipment Procedures.

4. Pay range: $14,692.70 to $15,909.36 base wage + $0.2205 per KM (over 80 km driven) and bus expense allowances. All Bus Drivers are deemed to have a four-hour work day unless the route is deemed a double route. Double routes will have a five-hour work day.

2. Click on “Apply Online” to create an online employment profile and apply for jobs.
3. Upload a resume and cover letter to your online profile. You must include three references for your application to be considered.
4. Once your profile has been created, you need to apply to the applicable job posting.
5. Please attach a signed SGI Driver Abstract Authorization to your application.
6. Candidates who are successfully shortlisted will be contacted for an interview.
7. Following a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to obtain their “S Endorsement”.

“S” Endorsement Process

1. Pick up a driver handbook from your local SGI office or the transportation department.
2. Submit a Bus Driver Medical to SGI (you will need to make arrangements with your health care professional to have this document completed).
3. Once the medical is completed and approved, you can book your written exam with SGI.
4. Contact Chinook's Driver Assessor to make arrangements for Chinook Driver Training.
5. Book your road test with SGI.
6. Upon successful completion, submit a copy of your “S” Endorsement certification to Human Resources.
