IT Coordinator
Citadel Drilling Ltd./ Opla Energy Ltd. (“Citadel/Opla”) is currently seeking candidates to fill the role of IT Coordinator (“ITC”) based out of the Calgary Head Office. The ITC is a permanent full-time position, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with our managed IT solutions provider, and supporting all Company employees.

About the IT Coordinator position
We are looking for a professional individual to effectively support the information technology systems and networks of the organization. The role demands someone with a varied IT background who can help ensure the effective delivery of IT services to our users through maintaining security protocols, providing technical support, and advising on IT strategic decision making. You will be performing both technical and administrative tasks, requiring critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective communication skills while interacting with various departments will be crucial to success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support: Working with outsourced help-desk resources to deliver onsite and remote support for Company IT-related issues and maintaining a database of learned solutions.
- Network Management: Ensure Company systems are running effectively. Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues and work with solution providers to address weaknesses.
- System Maintenance: Ensure periodic network and workstation updates including one-time hardware and software patches are performed according to approved schedules.
- Security Oversight: Implement security protocols access controls, including conducting regular audits and providing a response to security incidents. Assist in keeping Company disaster recovery plans up to date. Assist overseeing Company security awareness training.
- Project Coordination: Assist with planning and executing any IT projects and initiatives identified, including managing resources, budgets, and tracking progress.
- Procurement and Supplier Management: Procure IT hardware (workstations, network and peripherals) including monitoring end of life management; oversee software licensing ensuring standardization; evaluating suppliers service delivery and compliance.
- System Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation for IT systems, processes, and procedures.
- User Education and Training: Provide support and identify support resources for internal IT systems and software.
Qualifications, Skills, and Education Requirements

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in an IT service delivery role in a small to medium sized business with multiple locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science (equivalent education or aligned industry experience considered). Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network +, Microsoft 365, Azure Fundamentals/AWS Cloud Services) would be definite assets.
- Comfortable using a wide range of productivity tools including Microsoft 365 Business Suite, Microsoft 365 Admin Center, and SharePoint.
- Strong collaboration skills that enable you to provide excellent customer support, working effectively with stakeholders and diverse user groups including non-technical staff.
- Ability to adapt and embrace new technologies and support changing business needs.
- Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials related to the Company’s proprietary technology, business operations and user data.
- Strong time-management skills and an ability to work independently while prioritizing and effectively coordinating multiple concurrent projects.
- Ability to occasionally travel to the US to deliver on-site support to the various Company locations.
