Technical Lead

Job Description

Turno is seeking a Technical Lead to oversee and ensure the architecture and technical quality of one or more product areas, guiding an engineering team to deliver robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. This position is remote and we are accepting candidates from Latin America.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure Robust and Scalable Architecture:
    • Design and document system architecture that aligns with product goals.
    • Conduct regular architecture reviews to ensure alignment with business needs and scalability requirements.
  2. Maintain High Technical Quality:
    • Implement comprehensive and effective test coverage of your product(s).
    • Write and review technical design documents for new products and features.
    • Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.
  3. Provide Effective Technical Leadership:
    • Mentor junior engineers through regular one-on-one sessions and pair programming.
    • Lead technical discussions and design reviews to ensure high-quality technical decisions.
  4. Ensure Alignment with Best Practices and Standards:
    • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices within the team.
    • Ensure regular updates and training on new technologies and methodologies for the team.
  5. Ensure Technical Alignment with Business Goals:
    • Work closely with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
    • Ensure technical decisions support the overall business strategy and product roadmap.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years as a software engineer working on cloud-based web applications, with clear progression of increased responsibilities.
  • Deep understanding of software development, architecture, and best practices.
  • Proven experience with relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools (especially PHP, Laravel, Vue and React Native).
  • Knowledge of design patterns, code quality standards, and architectural principles.
  • Experience in leading technical discussions and code reviews.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and support the professional growth of team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
  • Proven track record of identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead meetings and ensure clear, transparent communication.
  • Fluent in English.
