Exciting opportunities are on the horizon at Van Cleef Engineering! Our Bethlehem office is hiring a Survey Technician to join our dynamic, award-winning team.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

1. Assist in the production of survey drawings
2. Perform basic survey computations
3. Prepare construction stakeout calculations and cut sheets
4. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D field to finish techniques in developing drawings
5. Develop skills in preparation of metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits and various mapping products
6. Compare survey computations with applicable standards in order to determine adequacy of data
7. Review and implement resource utility plans into existing conditions
8. Collect information needed to carry out new surveys, using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records and other relevant information
9. Prepare topographic maps of land surveyed, including site features and other relevant information such as charts, drawings, and survey notes
10. Develop skills in reviewing deed and Title Reports as part of preparing ALTA Surveys
11. Assist the survey practice leader in all aspects related to administrative duties
12. Compile information necessary to stake projects for construction using engineering plans
13. Assist with survey field operations as needed

What You Should Bring

1. Minimum of five (5) years' experience in land surveying
2. LSIT preferred or the ability to apply in the future
3. Experience in operating Trimble surveying equipment and complete field work as needed
4. Knowledge of land surveying principles and practices, construction methods and fundamentals.
5. Knowledge and experience of boundary and topographic surveying.
6. Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2022 or newer and Microsoft applications.
7. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform precise calculations.
8. Ability to interpret and apply legal descriptions, maps and survey data.
9. HS Diploma or Equivalent
10. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead by example
11. Must have a valid driver's license
