Amazon is looking for a motivated individual for the profile of Inventory Placement Sr Manager for Inventory Placement team to keep delighting our customers by fulfilling products from Amazon and our Selling Partners at the fastest possible speed, on-time and at the lowest possible cost. The role is a part of the Brazil Supply Chain under the Inbound and Placement team.
As part of the Placement team, you will contribute to defining our inventory placement strategy, reducing distance to customers by placing the right items in the right location in order to enable faster delivery, reduce carbon impact and costs. This role will give you a unique view of Amazon systems, process and operations, interacting with multiple teams and solving problems while the engine is running at full speed. It is broad and complex, with meaningful economic impact to the company.
Key job responsibilities
This role will work close to the Ops teams (Fulfillment Center, First Mile and Middle Mile) along with multiple other teams to implement process improvements and new technical features to improve inventory availability at ideal FCs. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused and used to work with ambiguity. They will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment. In this position you will:
- Define and implement the operational strategy for local in-stock and local assignment, establishing processes, tools, metrics, and responsibilities for each step of the process.
- Deep dive and analyze key business performance metrics, identify gaps, create plans to drive process improvements.
- Develop new metrics and performance indicators to evaluate, audit and improve efficiency of placement and cross dock operations, systems and processes.
- Own regular business reviews with leadership and operational teams to audit ongoing performance against key metrics and program goals.
- Set up robust processes to improve forecasting accuracy with an objective to minimize cost and maximize efficiency.
- Make the existing processes scalable by identifying and implementing available tools/automation.
- Rollout best practices from other geographies/companies.
- Support the business growth in constrained environments with frugal and innovative solutions.
- Collaborate with business teams on strategic programs and initiatives that affect placement and IXD operations.
Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
- Proficiency in data analytics, including SQL, Excel and one or more data visualization software.
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience.
- Fluent in written and verbal English.
Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field.
- Experience in independently setting goals, driving cross-functional teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.
- Experience working in or with a complex international supply chain management organization.
- Experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis in a technology environment.
