The Supervisor Accounting leads a team responsible for financial operations activities including or specific to one or more of the following: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cash Application, Credit, Collections, and Travel and Expense. They align workflow and ensure the team achieves productivity, quality, and service objectives by providing financial support and problem resolution. Measures, monitors, and communicates results. They manage performance and support employee growth and development.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of this position consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Reviews workflow and workload and adjusts where necessary to optimize available resources.
  2. Fills in and supports the work of others when needed.
  3. Serves as an escalation point for exceptions.
  4. Prepares operational performance reports to provide insights to employees and next level leadership related to production, expense, and quality of service. Creates action plans to improve results where needed.
  5. Ensures employee compliance to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  6. Ensures an understanding of available tools and systems to improve work processes and automation; works with next level leader and/or other operations leaders and internal stakeholders, to ensure adoption of system changes to improve effectiveness and/or efficiency; surfaces suggestions or improvements to drive better performance.
  7. Participates in the recruitment, selection, promotion, and alignment of qualified and diverse talent.
  8. Supports the annual merit and equity programs for assigned team to align compensation with performance results.
  9. Outlines employee role accountabilities and expectations; manages performance to drive the right behaviors and improve results and provides useful real-time coaching, development activities, and stretch assignments; supports employees with problem resolution.
  10. Encourages employee feedback through formal and informal channels. Works with next level manager to acknowledge and take action on feedback to drive a trusting culture of open two-way communication, inclusivity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  11. Gathers data and provides input to support the creation of financial performance goals, including a revenue and expense budget, for the supervised team.
  12. Other duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Minimum 3 years of Financial Reporting/Operations or related experience.

Preferred:

  1. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of Programs.
  2. Previous experience leading and managing teams.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Strong ability to partner and consult with multiple stakeholder groups.
  5. Builds strong relationships with internal and external clients.
  6. Ability to effectively implement changes.
  7. Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  8. Excellent planning and project management skills.
  9. Values a diverse and inclusive work environment.
