What does the job involve?

Responsible for Safe Work practices, planning, execution and monitoring of lifecycle operations and preventative as well as unplanned maintenance of the facilities, equipment, tools, and systems used to acquire energy resources. Includes identification and evaluation of operational risks and setting operational performance targets and measures. May include oversight/scheduling of a preventative maintenance program and maintenance related functional activities as job planning, scheduling, shift control, performance monitoring and liaisons with operations groups to ensure equipment/plant scheduled downtimes are coordinated effectively.

Be a technical advisor on static mechanical, piping and valves activities within Technical Facility Competence team, for Equinor Fields in Brazil. Analyze and evaluate drawings, procedures, and engineering documents from engineering contractors, within project teams, in order to approve or not the documents doing the relevant comments for changes. Provide Support for the assets Technical Integrity team on static equipment, piping, and valves knowledge. You address key business challenges that align with Equinor's short and long-term strategy via providing specialist support to your team and others. You independently communicate within the immediate team, across other areas, and towards key stakeholders from partners or external parties. You regularly navigate conflicting agendas and may lead negotiations with senior stakeholders. You resolve challenges, deliver improvements and contribute to shaping best practices. You promote change initiatives, demonstrate flexibility to adopt new highly complex activities/ways of working and advice others. What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Be a technical advisor on static mechanical, piping and valves activities within Technical Facility Competence team, for Equinor Fields in Brazil.

  • Analyze and evaluate drawings, procedures, and engineering documents from engineering contractors, within project teams, in order to approve or not the documents doing the relevant comments for changes.

  • Provide Support for the assets Technical Integrity team on static equipment, piping, and valves knowledge (specification, evaluation of technical proposals, plant integrity evaluations, participation on Factory Acceptance Tests, root cause analysis, etc.) in compliance with Equinor, International and local authorities requirements, such as ANP, Navy and Labour Ministry, Flag (Bahamas), IMO, Regulations and Class Societies (ex.: Lloyd's Register).

  • Provide support for Operations and Maintenance team in activities related to corrective maintenance (scope definition, technical queries, emergency and temporary repairs, evaluation of equipment / valves technical proposals, etc).

  • Be part of Management of Change (MoC) evaluation and approval process, assuring compliance with Authorities and Equinor requirements and confirming deliveries are in accordance with agreed expectations, within his area of responsibilities.

  • Perform visits offshore to closely follow-up assets' integrity, provide technical/operational support, when necessary and provide input for the Assets short and long term technical lifetime plan.

  • Experience in performing contractors technical and safety assessments linked to bid processes and regular evaluations.

  • Develop comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules for facilities, equipment, tools, and systems. Coordinate with operations groups to ensure effective scheduling of equipment/plant downtimes for maintenance activities.

  • Oversee a preventative maintenance program to ensure the ongoing reliability and performance of facilities, equipment, tools used in oil and gas exploration and production.

  • Develop maintenance strategies, conduct risk assessments, and optimize maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with operations groups to schedule and coordinate equipment/plant downtimes for maintenance activities. Ensure effective communication and coordination to minimize production disruptions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering. Eligible to hold CREA.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with Piping, Valves and Static Equipment (Vessels, Heat exchangers, Boiler).

  • Multidisciplinary knowledge and experience.

  • Fluent Portuguese and English skills, both written and verbal.

  • Knowledge in valves construction materials, types, and functionality (manual and actuated valves, PSVs, non-return, choke, etc).

  • Knowledge in international standards related to static equipment, piping and valves (ASME, API, DIN, JIS, etc).

  • Strong computer and software skills (SAP, excel, power point, Internet).

  • Effective communication ability and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work on a planned and organized way.
