SQL Developer Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated Microsoft SQL developer with two or more years of experience. This is a contract (40 hours per week, initially for six months) position. It is 100% telecommuting.

You have a passion for developing detail-oriented, creative solutions by using the latest technologies like .NET 6, EF 6, Azure, Azure DevOps. While you like to work on new development, you know that sometimes you need to work with existing legacy systems.

You like to share your knowledge, can work well with others, and are a good communicator. You bring structure to the development process, have an independent and professional attitude, and can handle complex projects competently.

You believe that a problem is “something to be solved” and you can use your creativity, inquisitiveness, and critical thinking to do that.

Requirements

1. Excellent experience in SQL Server
2. Excellent experience with Microsoft Azure
3. Excellent experience with SSIS, Data Factory, and other Azure integration tools
4. Experience with performance optimization
5. Proficient in MS Office applications
6. Experience in reading and understanding functional documentation
7. Knowledge of Wrike is a plus

While your primary responsibility will be developing data ingestion and data processing systems in a team environment, you will also have responsibility to engage with the Proximo staff to discuss status, review requirements, and co-develop with the rest of your team members.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Reading and commenting on technical architecture and functional documentation
2. Developing unit test cases for modules and screens you create
3. Back-end development in SQL and SSIS/Azure Data Factory
4. Optimizing applications for maximum speed and scalability
5. Supporting other team members during systems and integration testing
6. Estimating the labor it will take you to complete work, such as coding a module or function
7. Attending and contributing to SCRUM meetings
8. Creating documentation (in code and in MS Word) describing how a program you wrote flows
9. Translating functional and technical requirements to implement solutions
10. Experience working remotely with team members who are located globally
