Reporting into the Head of Legal, the Specialist Legal Senior is responsible for providing legal support on a variety of complex judicial proceedings in the context of remediation projects, including social value and sustainability initiatives. Based in Brazil, the role will provide legal support to judicial proceedings in a challenging environment, with the ultimate goal to improve BHP’s position in litigation, maximize deliveries in remediation, and provide subject matter expertise to other teams within Legal and to other stakeholders across BHP. The role also includes support in negotiations with public entities, regulators, local communities, and others; developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years’ experience working in a top-tier law firm or international in-house team, with a focus on complex litigation and projects.
