Your Impact

We are looking for a Software Engineer II with expertise in Python, API development, LLM experience, and familiarity with SQL databases and cloud technology.

You’ll be a member of a global team working on generative AI initiatives, based in our Lisbon, Prague, São Paulo, or San José offices. Our McKinsey’s Tech Ecosystem function is responsible for developing and delivering all technology solutions for the firm’s internal use. You will work in a product team with engineers, designers, and product managers doing application development with the purpose of delivering impactful AI solutions leveraging the best of the data within the firm.

As a Software Engineer II on the Lilli team, you will be at the forefront of our firm's generative AI initiatives. Your role will involve writing, testing, debugging, and maintaining application code using Python, React, and NextJS. You will leverage industry-leading LLMs to drive data retrieval and synthesis.

Your expertise will be crucial in identifying and resolving technical issues and challenges. This involves keeping up to date with the fast-moving technology of generative AI and leveraging the best of the industry to keep Lilli at the leading edge of generative AI products. You will be pivotal in driving innovation within our firm, delivering impactful AI solutions, and collaborating with a distributed team across North America, Europe, and Latin America.

Your qualifications and skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Expertise in React and NextJS
• Expertise with SQL databases, particularly PostgreSQL or cloud equivalents such as Amazon RDS
• Experience utilizing LLMs and prompt engineering
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline setup and management
• Familiarity with the AWS cloud platform for deploying and managing applications, particularly AWS ECS
• Familiarity with GitHub for version control and code collaboration
• Knowledge of containerization
• Strong conceptual problem-solving
• Ownership mindset
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
