POSITION OVERVIEW
Motorola Mobility is looking for a social media content creator and storyteller with an appreciation and understanding of brand marketing who can develop and produce compelling visual and written content tailored for organic social media channels. You'll ensure that content aligns with brand guidelines, speaks to audience preferences, and resonates on platform.
With a knack for creating social-native assets, you'll play a key role in driving engagement, supporting our brand's presence, building connections with our target audience, and contributing to our broader marketing goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, create, and deliver social media content that engages consumers and that demonstrates how our brand fits into their lives.
- Work both independently and in collaboration with graphic designers, copywriters, social strategists, and partner marketing managers to produce unique, standout content aligned with broader business objectives and brand voice.
- Stay on top of trends, platform updates, and industry activity to inform content creation and storytelling.
- Embrace a "test and learn" approach—identify opportunities for experimentation, analyze performance, and use data to determine which ideas are worth scaling.
- Resourcefully transform ideas and partnerships into unforgettable stories through using creative problem-solving techniques.
- Partner with the broader social media team to develop and manage the content calendar to ensure timely and relevant posting across all platforms.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-4 years relevant experience in social media content creation for brands, organizations, or clients, demonstrating ability to create high-quality, engaging social-native content across various platforms (at minimum, Instagram or TikTok).
- Degree in marketing, communication, graphic design, journalism, public relations, creative writing, humanities, cultural studies, or similar.
- Open to candidates without a bachelor’s degree, provided they have relevant hands-on experience in content creation and social media strategy.
- Experience shooting photos and videos, including use of a range of content capture equipment based on project needs.
- Strong visual skills, including an eye for good lighting, shot composition, use of color.
- Proficiency with video production & editing tools (platform-native tools, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and/or Keyshot) to produce short-form video content.
- Attention to detail to ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and content quality.
- Effective verbal and written communication in English language and in global business setting to coordinate with internal teams and to create suitable external-facing content.
- Highly adaptable, with the ability to pivot in response to changing trends and business needs.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously while maintaining quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience within a global organization: working with teams in different countries, virtual cross-cultural collaboration.
- Familiarity with motion graphics, animation, or interactive media (e.g., Adobe After Effects, Animoto).
- Proficiency with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and/or Figma).
- Understanding of how SEO principles apply to social media content, including hashtags, keyword research, and optimization for discoverability.
- Experience with influencer outreach and program management and/or brand partnerships.
- Previous use of content management systems, scheduling tools, and performance tracking tools (e.g. Emplifi, Sprinklr, Monday.com, Asana).
- Experience in responding to or handling social media crises or sensitive situations.
