POSITION OVERVIEW
CHS has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Operational Controller within our Finance Team, supporting South America (SOAM), which includes Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. This leader will partner closely with production and terminal facility leaders to support financial decision-making, develop talent, and drive process excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
People
- Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to a team of four analysts.
- Build organizational capacity within the team and initiate succession planning.
- Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, to align financial goals with operational strategies.
Processes
- Lead the financial planning process, including forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning (LRP) for SOAM operational groups.
- Oversee the SOAM operational groups' annual budget and forecast processes by delivering data-driven insights to optimize plans and achieve volume and gross margin objectives.
- Manage the CapEx program and processes for global grain, processing, and agronomy assets within SOAM.
- Ensure adherence to inventory policies and support their implementation at operational locations.
Data & Tech
- Enhance reporting processes by building and automating tools to improve budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Collaborate with the Business Intelligence (BI) team to develop and enhance Global Grain Marketing reporting.
- Leverage advanced analytics and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) to drive operational efficiencies and strategic decision-making.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
- Industry experience in Agriculture, Energy, or a related sector.
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including financial management, FP&A, corporate finance, financial accounting, and reporting.
- Advanced knowledge of business systems, processes, and financial accounting principles (USGAAP, IFRS, and BRGAAP).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and advanced reporting tools such as Power BI.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JD Edwards, or Oracle).
- Prior experience operating in a strong internal controls environment with expertise in establishing and monitoring effective control activities.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED):
- Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA.
- Green Belt or Lean Silver Certification.
- Proven ability to:
- Handle complex assignments independently.
- Communicate effectively across multiple organizational levels.
- Advocate for ideas and provide sound rationale for recommendations.
- Navigate and influence in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
- Develop talent and build strong teams to achieve desired outcomes.
- Familiarity with advanced analytics tools, such as Power BI.
- Experience in system implementations and process improvement initiatives to drive efficiency.
