Smart Factory Controls / Mechatronics Engineer (México)

Required Technical Skill Set Experience on Factory IT / OT Systems: Manufacturing Engineering, Smart Manufacturing, Industrial Control Systems, IoT / Connected Devices

Location of Requirement: México, Querétaro

Desired Competencies (Technical/Behavioral Competency)

Must-Have:

• Bachelor’s degree or High school Diploma in Automation/Control systems/Mechatronics/Computer Science
• Proven working knowledge with at least 3 years’ experience in Operational Technology (OT)-Information Technology (IT) integrated environment, both hands-on and project management.
• Familiar with Industrial automation and control systems including but not limited to Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation) Factory talk system, Schneider Electric, Wonderware Intouch, AC/DC Drive, Motor, Inverter, HMI.
• Hands-on experience working with the following technology stack:
• PTC Kepware and Thingworx Platform
• Azure IoT Hub and Datalake
• Familiar with Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Experience working with site teams to understand the source of data, connecting Sensor/Device to local control systems, and mapping/transformation of data as needed, ensuring data quality before handover to supplier.

Good-to-Have:

• Managed on-site contractors/suppliers for any factory automation, system integration, and data enablement required for the project.

Responsibilities / Expectations from the Role:

1. Collaborate with users and suppliers to understand URS (User Requirement Specification) and obtain sign-off from Mars stakeholders for data enablement and system integration requirements.
2. Align with solution providers for data requirements, system integration, and evaluate data readiness of the factory. Summarize any gaps that require additional investment and align with Mars stakeholders to raise the project to cover those gaps.
3. Understand data engineering based on data requirements and gaps, and perform data enablement from low-level devices up to historization in both on-premise data centers and on the cloud, involving hands-on configuration or working with suppliers.
4. Manage project timeline and cost, working with suppliers to deliver projects as per agreed requirements.
5. Periodically update project progress and report to the Mars management team.
6. Work with factory stakeholders to drive adoption of deployed solutions and realize benefits.

Travels to Guadalajara will be borne by the client.
