Summary

The Senior Director, FP&A will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, strategic planning, and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) within the international commercial organization. This role requires a strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to work effectively in a global team environment. Located in São Paulo, Brazil, this individual will be the primary FP&A partner to the Head of International, ensuring alignment of financial strategies with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy and Oversight: Develop and implement financial strategies to support the commercial goals of BioMarin in the international market. Ensure alignment with the overall corporate strategy.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting activities. Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide actionable insights to optimize resources.
3. Financial Management Reporting: Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports for internal stakeholders.
4. FP&A: Conduct in-depth financial analyses to support business decisions. Provide financial modeling, scenario analysis, and strategic planning to drive business performance.
5. Accounting Interaction: Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
6. Business Partnership: Develop strong relationships with business leaders to provide financial insights and support decision making. Act as a trusted advisor to drive strategic initiatives and improve business performance.
7. Decision Support: Provide financial expertise and analytical support for key business decisions. Ensure that financial considerations are integrated into business planning and strategy.
8. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing finance team. Provide mentorship, develop talent, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Education And Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred.
2. Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably within the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
3. Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development. Experience in international markets is highly desirable.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to inspire and drive change within a diverse, multicultural environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English and Portuguese is required; additional languages are a plus.
6. High level of integrity, with a strong commitment to ethical standards and compliance.
7. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
