We are looking for a senior level Cloud Engineer who is passionate about open-source software, Linux, and OpenStack to design and develop systems that empower HEB’s on-prem and edge delivery.

As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer on the Private Cloud Engineering team, you’ll be building a new, own brand technology experience using open-source technology. Your work will bring a new cloud platform to a wide range of users across HEB in both datacenter and edge formats. This role requires a software developer with a passion for automating infrastructure as code.

Applicants should also be passionate about the future of the software defined datacenter, distributed systems, and open source.

Who you are:

• Takes ownership of driving alignment, making well-informed technical decisions, and establishing clear, actionable next steps in collaboration with the team and stakeholders, ensuring accountability and delivering outcomes.
• Designing and implementing scalable, highly available OpenStack architectures.
• Mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
• Driving automation and process improvements to increase reliability and efficiency.
• Managing upgrades and integrations with third-party services or private cloud platforms.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to align OpenStack solutions with business needs.
• Effective at clear documentation and communication to broaden team understanding.
• Able to coordinate and lead agile ceremonies within team operations.
• Effective at identifying and implementing team process improvements.
• Leads by example in breaking down team work, prioritizing, ensuring alignment within team, and communicating with stakeholders.

What you will do:

• Advanced expertise in OpenStack architecture and its core components (Nova, Neutron, Keystone, CEPH, Cinder, etc.).
• Proficiency in orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, etc).
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) as they integrate with OpenStack.
• Deep understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts.
• Write, test, and deploy effective code for Openstack/orchestration tooling.
• Able to write successful unit tests for new functionality.
• Able to perform and validate MR’s to meet quality required.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
