We’re looking for our next Senior Analyst, Securities Lending & Finance Trade Ops. Could It Be You?

The purpose of the Senior Analyst, Securities Lending and Finance is to mitigate financial, regulatory and reputational risks by ensuring the SLA and regulatory compliance of third party clearing operations services and in-house processes. They work collaboratively to foster productive and positive relationships for the benefit of Questrade’s clients and overall business operations.

The Senior Analyst for Securities Lending and Finance will provide support to the Securities Lending and Finance desk and will be responsible for all operational tasks for both desks. The position requires individuals to actively participate in the daily process. They will act as the first point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders. They foster positive and productive relationships internally and with third parties, and work collaboratively with all parties to effectively resolve issues.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Responsible for all operational tasks for both Securities Finance and Securities Lending desks including oversight of third party service bureau
2. Review and resolve daily Contract & Compare breaks
3. Work on all operational tasks for Securities Finance including P&L on monthly basis
4. Coordinate daily repays /returns
5. Manage Recalls and buy-ins and settlements of securities lending trades
6. Review cash collateral mark to market transactions for accuracy and completion
7. Monitor Loanet profit center activity for accurate coding
8. Communicate relevant information to Trade Desk and with settlements to help resolve inquiries
9. Provide accurate and reliable feedback to treasury, risk, finance, compliance, or any other relevant department as requested
10. Constantly monitor and review existing processes and seek to identify ways to improve performance and efficiency
11. Be an integral part of brainstorming, designing and implementing process and procedures
12. Keep current on Questrade products, services, programs, policies and procedures
13. Assist with billing and the onboarding of new clients
14. Manage client relations as well as relationships with internal departments
15. Assist with writing test scenarios and executing test cases
16. Other duties, as assigned

1. Have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in middle office security lending/operations
2. Have a post-secondary degree/diploma in related field or equivalent experience
3. Have strong communication and interpersonal skills must be experienced in building and maintaining solid working relationships internally and externally
4. Possess strong organizational and time management skills
5. Have the ability to use Excel at an intermediate level
6. Have the ability to navigate Google Suite
7. Have flexibility and an ability to manage ad-hoc requests
8. Have previous experience dealing with Securities lending, Security Finance, brokerage operation and international settlements
9. Have knowledge of BPS, Arrow, CDS, DTC, BNP, Loanet, HELIX and Apex
