Senior Accountant

The Statutory Accounting Team at Expedia Group supports legal entities across each jurisdiction globally. We are responsible for local books maintenance, differences between US and local accounting rules, supporting external audits and producing financial statements for international entities, spread all over the world.


If you are interested in working in a multi-cultural environment, a tech company and a fast-paced team, you are in the right place! In our Statutory Accounting team, you will have constant contact with local accounting and tax advisors spread across LATAM/APAC (Latin America/Asia Pacific) regions. Also, you will have many opportunities to exchange knowledge with partners located in the US and Europe. Our Statutory Accounting Team is responsible for complying with local accounting regulations and reviewing indirect taxes.


In this role, you will:

  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Liaison with 3rd party service providers to support local compliance requirements
  • Work efficiently across functions to support local audits in partnership with the senior accountants
  • Be able to understand GAAP concepts and their effects on statutory financial results
  • Prepare financial statements according to IFRS or local accounting regulation
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis
  • Support statutory audits in multiple countries

Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree in accounting; or equivalent related professional experience
  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Fluent in English (Spanish is desirable)
  • Ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to build strong working relationships and work efficiently across functions to resolve issues
  • Attention to detail with excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Knowledge in AR and AP subledger in ERP systems
  • Experience with Oracle or a similar ERP system
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, functions) as well as able to work with large amounts of data
  • Commitment to continued improvement
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
