Ruby Development Lead

We are a US-based B2B SaaS company that provides a client portal designed specifically for professionals to streamline communication and collaboration with their clients.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-quality software solutions.
2. Oversee all phases of the development lifecycle, ensuring best practices and high standards.
3. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
4. Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
5. Implement and advocate for best practices, including test-driven development (TDD), continuous integration (CI), Scrum, refactoring, and coding standards.
6. Identify and resolve technical bottlenecks, ensuring efficient problem-solving.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business objectives.
8. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and drive continuous innovation.

Requirements:

1. 8+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in backend technologies.
2. 4+ years of experience leading and mentoring development teams.
3. Strong proficiency in Ruby, with a deep understanding of its syntax and nuances.
4. Expertise in clean code principles, refactoring, and test-driven development.
5. Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming paradigms.
6. Extensive experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.
7. Excellent time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
8. Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
9. Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

1. Knowledge of DevOps practices – working with CI/CD pipelines.
2. Experience working with Terraform.
