DeepOcean Africa is looking for a ROV Technical Manager to manage project execution for a number of projects and clients within Europe & Africa. The candidate will be the ROV technical point of contact within the organization, responsible for guaranteeing client satisfaction by managing the day-to-day operations of DeepOcean Africa's equipment. The role is varied and challenging, with responsibilities that include both onshore maintenance of the ROV fleet and liaising with offshore crew.
The ROV Technical Manager will be responsible for:
- Ensuring all operations are conducted in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
- Providing assistance in the preparation of ROV tender scopes and proposing innovative solutions that create added value for the customer.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and group toolpool to provide ROV tooling to the projects.
- Preparing and maintaining technical documentation and certification of each equipment.
- Supporting the offshore crew on ROV maintenance and repair tasks.
- Reporting on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis regarding the performance, operation, and budget of the ROV fleet and subsidiary equipment.
- Keeping the ROV fleet operational, safe to operate, and managing expenditures within budget.
- Tracking all equipment on NAVTRAX.
Qualifications and Education
We are looking for a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience within ROV operations and maintenance. An electrical engineering degree will be preferred for the position.
Skills / Personal Attributes
- Strong knowledge & understanding of ROV operation within the Oil & Gas industry and familiarity with ROV subsea technology and tooling (minimum 5 years with Work Class systems).
- Ability to effectively manage, work, and deal with people from a multinational background at various levels.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and have good organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, quickly assess, and prioritize situations.
- French language is mandatory and ability to communicate in English effectively, both orally and in written form.
- Customer focus - achieving company, department, and personal goals through a strong customer focus.
- Good relationship-building and team engagement ability.
- MS Office skills.
Working Conditions
Ideally a permanent staff position in the Sète office, but open to remote options. The office is located in Sète (34), South of France, with hybrid work possible. Occasional business travel may be required. You will work in motivated teams with colleagues from all over the world.
