Job Description
The Housekeeping team are the heart of our hotel. As a Rooms Quality Inspector, you will take ownership of guest rooms, ensuring that our guests are provided with a clean, comfortable space, and be a part of creating a memorable experience for them.
What you will be doing:
- Ensure all Room Attendants have the right tools and equipment to start their day
- Walk all floors to ensure that the linen and guest supplies are adequately available to run the operations of the day
- Inspect the cleanliness of all the guest rooms and upkeep of the backspaces and guest corridors ensuring guest hallways are free of linen and food trays
- Actively communicate daily operations with the Room Attendants so they can be prepared accordingly.
- Monitor arrival times of groups and tours to ensure room readiness.
- Ensure all chemicals and recycling programs of the company are being followed.
- Actively involved in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace by ensuring all recycling practices are followed and walk spaces are maintained with no sharp objects or broken glasses left in backspaces or garbage bags. Communicate when recycling bins are full to ensure they are always available for the attendants to use.
- Act as floor support for Room Attendants as needed and assist with cleaning rooms as required, based on operations.
- Inspect guest rooms as per Fairmont standards and maintain guest quality by meeting guest preferences.
- Provide feedback to Room Attendants to help them perform as per standards.
- Check that Room Attendants have carts filled with all guest supplies available and ensure that vacuums and housekeeping carts and chemicals are left where they belong at the end of the day.
- Familiarization with procedures requiring critical and urgent handling such as floods, fire alarms, medical urgencies, etc. and be the first responders to the situations.
- Maintain the room products and furniture to the highest quality standards and identify room deficiencies and communicate with Supervisors, Operations Manager and Engineering to fix the issues.
- Ensure all Lost & Found items are brought back to the Office and tagged properly.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your experience and skillset includes:
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Room Attendant
- Physically fit and able to work well under pressure
- Able to work well independently with little supervision
- Must be a team player and demonstrate organizational skills
- Proficient in English, verbal and written required
- Must be able to make decisions individually and show problem solving ability
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Constant walking throughout shift
- Housekeeping is a very physically demanding position. Duties include repetitive bending, pulling, carrying, high lifting and heavy pushing (up to 100lbs).
